White Noise & Focus Timer for macOS

macOS 13+ Version 1.0 Menu Bar App
Still lives in your menu bar — no Dock icon, no windows. Click the audio bars icon in the top-right of your screen to open the app.

Getting Started

After installing Still, look for the audio bars icon in your menu bar. Click it to open the timer and sound controls. If you don't see it, try scrolling through hidden menu bar icons by holding the Command key and dragging the icon into view.

Timer

Select a preset — Classic (25/5 min), Deep Work (50/10), Ultradian (90/20), Simple (custom countdown), or set a Custom duration — then press Start.

When a session ends, a fullscreen break screen appears with wellness reminders and a countdown. Press Skip or Esc to dismiss it early.

Ambient Sounds

Tap any sound to toggle it on or off. Up to two sounds play simultaneously. The volume slider adjusts all active sounds in real time.

Still Pro

One-time purchase — no subscription, no account required. Unlocks all 14 ambient sounds, all timer presets, the fullscreen break screen with wellness reminders, and the daily session tracker.

To restore a previous purchase, open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchase.

Common Questions

  • No Dock icon? Correct — Still is a menu bar-only app by design.
  • How do I quit? Open the popover → Settings → Quit Still.
  • Launch on login? Open Settings and enable "Launch at Login."
  • Timer keeps running after I close the popover? Intentional — it runs in the background so you stay focused.
  • Sleep / wake issues? If the timer drifts after sleep, press Reset to resync.

Privacy Policy

We don't collect your data. This document explains why.

macOS App Effective: June 2026 Version 1.0
Still is designed to stay out of your way — including your data. The app runs entirely on your device, stores nothing beyond your local preferences, and has no internet connection whatsoever.

Data Collection

Still collects no personal data of any kind. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no usage tracking. We do not know you installed the app.

Local Storage

The only information Still stores is your app preferences, saved locally to your Mac using macOS UserDefaults:

  • Timer preset selection (Classic, Deep Work, Ultradian, Custom, Simple)
  • Custom timer durations
  • Ambient sound volume level
  • Menu bar and auto-start preferences
  • In-app purchase status (stored by the OS via StoreKit)

This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall Still.

Network Activity

Still makes zero network requests. All audio files are bundled with the app. No internet connection is required, used, or requested — ever.

In-App Purchase processing is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit framework. Still never sees or handles your payment information.

Third-Party Services

Still uses no third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or crash reporters. The only external system involved is Apple's App Store and StoreKit for purchase validation.

Children's Privacy

Still does not collect any data from any user, including children. The app is safe to use regardless of age.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy ever changes in a meaningful way, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
